Job Summary:

West Texas A&M University, a member of the Texas A&M University System located in Canyon, TX, invites applications for a full-time faculty position (either as Clinical Assistant Professor or Full-time Instructor) in Psychology, preferably beginning spring semester 2025. The successful applicant will have specialization and experience in School Psychology. 

Work Performed: 

This full-time, 9-month position will include responsibilities in teaching and service. Responsibilities will include teaching psychology-related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, communicating with current and prospective students, supervising practicing graduate students, coordinating clinical services, and participating in professional service. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to create and deliver quality curricula for students across our undergraduate (BA/BS), general M.A., and specialist in school psychology (SSP) programs. Opportunities for mentorship, workshops in pedagogy, and instructional support are available through the Terry B. Rogers College of Education and Social Sciences, Teaching Excellence Center, and Instructional Technology Services. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • An earned graduate degree (or current ABD status) in School Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited institution; 
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Psychologist in Texas;
  • Experience working in clinical and/or school settings;
  • Willingness to contribute to program activities and service to the department, college, and university. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supervising clinical and/or school psychological practice;
  • Demonstrated record of teaching excellence in the classroom or other instructional settings; 
  • Ability to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level coursework in development; assessment, behavioral intervention, clinical intervention, psychometrics, and/or statistics;
  • Experience in teaching both face-to-face and online modalities; 
  • Experience and/or ability to effectively engage with first-generation students.
  • An earned PhD in School Psychology or a closely related field;
